How CheckBridge protects your bank details
Check printing means handling routing and account numbers, so we keep the design simple and the data small.
What we store
- Bank name, routing number and account number for each bank account you set up. Account numbers are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM and only decrypted to print a check.
- The QuickBooks connection keys Intuit gives us, also encrypted. You can disconnect at any time, which revokes them with Intuit.
- A record of each print batch: check numbers, payees, amounts and dates, so you have a history.
What we do not store
- Check photos. The numbers are read in your own browser. A photo sent from your phone is held for a few minutes and deleted the moment your computer picks it up.
- Your QuickBooks password. Sign-in happens on Intuit's own page.
- Card numbers. Card payments go straight to our processor, Sola, through their secure card fields.
Access
- Every connection uses HTTPS. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt.
- Owners choose which companies each team member can see and print for.
- Key actions (bank changes, print batches, QuickBooks connections) are recorded in an audit log.
Printing safely
- Use blank check stock with security features (microprint border, void pantograph, chemical protection).
- Keep blank stock locked up the same way you would preprinted checks.
- Write VOID across any check that misprints and keep it for your records. CheckBridge keeps the number in its history.
